Every opening day in December at 1:00 PM.
The changing seasons bring new challenges for the garden’s diverse life, and in today’s tour, we will explore how the different species cope with the challenges of winter. We will follow the garden’s fauna as the year comes to an end and examine how phenomena like hibernation actually provide an advantage.
The life in the garden has shown many different methods of dealing with the cold weather. Many people associate the change of fur color with animals exclusively living in Arctic areas. However, one of the garden’s residents uses the same strategy.
The ermine can indeed be found in Arctic regions, but it is also present in Denmark. The ermine is the only Danish mammal that changes to a white winter coat, with only the tip of its tail remaining black. It’s quite clever, especially if our winters continue to bring plenty of snow.
The gnomes have historically lived in close harmony with nature, and their relationship with the natural world is both admirable and fascinating. Join today’s story and learn more about the gnomes’ way of life while exploring the many secrets of their home.
