Join us for Museum Brunch, all-you-can-eat, at Café Foderbrættet with experiences at Naturama. We are setting the table for the whole family every Saturday throughout December from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The coldest months of the year have begun, just as life in the "Enchanted Garden" has prepared for during the autumn. For some, the winter hibernation begins after a long season of preparation. For others, they must make do with the scarce food options of winter. Hear more about nature's solutions to the falling temperatures on today's tour.

Every weekend in December, we are open from 9 AM to 4 PM, as well as from 9 AM to 4 PM between Christmas and New Year's (December 27–30).

We are closed for the entire month of January. We look forward to welcoming you back on February 4th 2025.

Autumn has announced its arrival, bringing with it a wealth of changes in nature – even in our immediate surroundings. The garden’s inhabitants are preparing for colder days, but how this is approached varies from species to species. In today’s guided tour, we will explore the exhibition "The Enchanted Garden," focusing on the diversity of autumn adaptations for the colder months.

From 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday and Tuesday during the autumn break, you can be painted as one of the Danish animals.

Our nature has always been in constant change, and each year, our Danish nature faces annual transformations with the changing of the seasons. However, looking at recent decades, climate change has brought about alterations that affect the world’s ecosystems in entirely different ways. Come along and be amazed as our facilitator takes you through our new exhibition, "The Garden Adventure"

Every Monday at 11.00 during the summer holidays can you experience what an animal actually looks like inside? Join us as Naturama's presenter examines the anatomy and physiology of animals.

In the creative workshop, you can unleash your creativity, let yourself be inspired by the colors of autumn, and create your own masterpiece. You will find the creative workshop in the Natural Lab throughout the break, between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Throughout our history, humans have introduced both animals and plants to areas where they are not naturally occurring. But not all of these introduced species are necessarily a problem for Danish biodiversity. Our nature mediator investigates the matter and tries to answer when a species is actually invasive.

Naturama's guides are ready in the Ranger Room to tell their best story from the world of nature. Come along and find out what exciting things they unearth from the caches today!

Invite your friends to an unforgettable birthday among the animals at Naturama. Here you sit at a table among snakes and wandering sticks. Café Foderbrættet provides food and cake for the hungry rangers before we all go on an expedition. On the expedition, an expert expedition leader will take you around the museum, where we will travel to distant regions and meet exotic creatures. During the expedition, you learn what it takes to become a Naturama Ranger. We will go around the exhibitions, and along the way there will be fun tasks and live animals! At the end, there is a surprise for all participating children.

Two kings and a prince have supplied animals to Naturama's exhibitions.

At Naturama, Naturama's large polar bear stands on its hind legs with its snout lifted. It's on a seal hunt, and the seals shouldn't feel safe just because they're a few kilometers away.

At Naturama's air level, more than 500 birds are gathered in one place. Here you can experience the birds of Northern Europe, ranging from the little bird king to the golden eagle - From 7 grams to 7 kg.

In the exhibition "Northern Europe's mammals" the animals walk the catwalk. All animals that are or have been part of the Danish animal world. Others are about to immigrate.

Svendborg Zoological Museum opened in 1935. The focus of the exhibitions was a complete collection of Danish birds. Later, more showcases and many more objects and stuffed animals came to the museum.

The sei whale is Naturama's largest object with its 16 meters. Impressive and magnificent, the skeleton of the great whale stands today as a natural focal point in the museum's large exhibition space.

The diving of the gannets into the sea to catch fish is spectacular. From great heights, the gannets plunge into shoals of fish below sea level.
