Activity
Every Saturday and Sunday in September at 10:00 AM you can experience Naturama’s live animals.
Get up close to one of the museum’s live animals and be fascinated by how the use of the senses differs from our own.
Since Naturama (then: Svendborg Zoological Museum) opened back in 1935, the museum has always had a selection of various live animals. Through the encounter with the museum’s various species, guests have had the opportunity to see the wonders of nature, up close since the opening date.
It was the museum’s founder’s belief that the fascination with our nature was enhanced by the opportunity to experience it up close. Because many puzzling questions can be asked about our nature and the diverse life that exists in it. The diversity in the animal kingdom is unique and especially the different use of their senses by the many species is absolutely fantastic.
Did you know that snakes can use their tongues to smell? Or that many insects can see ultraviolet light? Maybe you didn’t know that butterflies can taste with their feet? There are so many things that many of us are not aware of when we talk about the animals that live around us.
That is exactly what our presenters will explore today. What animal have they brought with them? And how does its use of the senses differ from our own?
